Dr Con Papageorgiou graduated from Bristol University in 1999 and started his anaesthetic career in 2003. He has worked in a number of hospitals, including tertiary units in the UK and Australia, gaining considerable experience before settling on a permanent consultant role at Hillingdon Hospital in West London. Here, he has led innovation in developing enhanced recovery programmes for patients having caesarean sections, as well as supervising anaesthetic research fellowships. His areas of special interest include anaesthesia for orthopaedic surgery including ultrasound guided regional blockade, peri-operative medicine and obstetric anaesthesia.

Dr Sandy Kidd qualified in Dundee and has been a Consultant since 1993. His special interests include orthopaedic peri-operative medicine encompassing regional anaesthesia, acute pain management, blood conservation and early mobilisation.
Dr Kidd undertook training in the HM Forces Army, Guys hospital, West Midlands SR rotation and the Trauma center Baltimore MD. He was also a consultant post Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital.
Currently, Dr Kidd is a private practice anaesthetist, a member of the London regional Transfusion Team, Chair of Trust Transfusion Committee and Chair of Trust Thrombosis Prevention Group.

Dr Handy is a Consultant Intensivist and Anesthetist at The Royal Marsden Hospital, Honorary Senior Lecturer with Imperial College London, and the Clinical Lead for North West London Critical Care Network. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Intensive Care Society and has a research portfolio which includes clinical and basic science interests, the latter in collaboration with the academic department of Imperial College London. He has published widely and lectured internationally on topics including acid-base disturbances during critical illness, critical care transfers, intravenous fluid therapy, cardiovascular physiology, burns management, sepsis, and the immunological impact of surgery and burn injury.

Dr Elizabeth Ashley

Dr Elizabeth Ashley was appointed as a Consultant Anaesthetist at King’s College Hospital in 1998. Her areas of special interest include cardiothoracic anaesthesia, especially off-bypass surgery, anaesthesia for patients with grown up congenital heart disease, and the management of acute post-operative pain. She is a recognised expert in the expanding field of anaesthesia for interventional cardiology and electrophysiological procedures.
She has advanced training and expertise in trans-oesophageal echocardiography and has attained North American Board Accreditation in perioperative echocardiography. She has numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Kevin Haire is a Consultant Anaesthetist who has worked with many of the Fortius surgeons for over 15 years and in the NHS at the Chelsea and Westminster Healthcare NHS Fdn Trust. His main Clinical interests are Orthopaedic and Bariatric Anaesthesia. He has lectured widely on these subjects and has special interests in the management of Day surgery patients and the development of treatment pathways for Joint replacement surgery. He is the Medical Director for Simulation training at Chelsea and Westminster Healthcare NHS Fdn Trust and has keen interest in Medical Education.
